This Instruction to repair broken mail-profiles (Outlook) is created for Windows 10 and Microsoft Outlook 2016.
Part 1 - Check Internet Options
In this part you will be guided step-by-step on how to check the configurtion of the internet options. You should check them before the first use of Microsoft Outlook on a new ISG-managed computer.
Close Outlook if still open
1. Click on Start 2. Type Control Panel 3. Open the Control Panel
4. On the upper right of the WIndow there is an Option called "View by:" Choose "Small Icons" 5. Click on Internet Options
6. Change Tab to Connections 7. Click on LAN Settings
8. In the new window there is an option "Automatically detect settings", uncheck this option 9. Click OK
10. Click OK
Part 2 - Deselte Mail-Profile
Those steps will be needed if Microsoft Outlook can not be started. This usually happens if the configuration of the Internet Options was not correct at the first start of Microsoft Outlook.
11. Click on Mail
12. Click on Show Profiles...
13. Chose the profile "Outlook" 14. Click Remove (at the upshowing Message click YES) 15. Click Apply 16. If the WIndow doesn't close automatically, click OK
Now you should be able to use Microsoft Outlook again.
